Skippers
There are about 3500 species of skippers. They differ from true-butterflies by their antennae clubs hooked backward like a hook. They also generally have heavier bodies and larger eyes. Many species look very similar, some of which can only be seperated by dissection and microscopic examination of the genitalia. The Common and White Checkered-Skippers Pyrgus communis/albescens are one such example.
